Filing for Osage County offices will begin on February 22, 2022 at 8:00 A.M. and will end on March 29, 2022 at 5:00 P.M. Packets are available for registration and will include a Declaration of Candidacy, Form 5120 (affidavit stating all state and local taxes are paid), and information from the Missouri Ethics Commission.

The Form 5120 must be completed and submitted to the Missouri Department of Revenue before a candidate can file. It can be obtained online or in person at the Osage County Clerk’s office. This form requires a notary seal. Please have all paperwork completed before the first day of filing if possible. These packets are available at the Osage County Clerk’s Office or can be e-mailed by request. A filing fee of $50 will be due to your party of choice and a receipt will be collected and a photo ID or voter ID card will need to be presented.

A lottery system will be in place for the County. This means that camping out to be first on the ballot is no longer necessary. On the first day of filing all candidates will draw a number and the lowest number will appear first on the ballot. All other candidates will fall in line according to their number. Anyone filing a candidacy after the first day will be placed on the ballot in chronological order.

County seats that are up for election this next year include: Assessor, Presiding Commissioner, County Clerk, Collector, Treasurer, Circuit Clerk, Recorder, Prosecuting Attorney, and Associate Circuit Judge.  Any questions should be directed to the Osage County Clerk’s Office at (573)897-2139.
